About
Software Engineer with 9 years of experience, currently building fantasy sports platforms for NASCAR, The Masters, and the PGA Tour at Sports Technologies, primarily in React and TypeScript. A meaningful part of my work goes beyond individual features into component libraries, shared infrastructure, and the kind of decisions other engineers end up building on top of later.
Before that I spent five years as a consultant, which usually meant being the only engineer on a project. I worked with government agencies, financial clients, and other enterprise organizations, owning the work end to end from design to deployment. That experience is where I learned to own a problem fully rather than just a piece of it, and it is still how I prefer to work.
Experience
Front End Developer
Sports Technologies — Jan 2022 to Present — Remote
I lead frontend development for a set of fantasy sports products used by NASCAR, The Masters, and the PGA Tour. I rewrote NASCAR Fantasy Live from a legacy AngularJS codebase to React 18 and TypeScript, and built the monorepo, component library, and theming system the rest of the product line now runs on. Beyond individual features, a significant part of my work is shared infrastructure, performance, integrating live data feeds into the frontend, and authentication systems that need to hold up for hundreds of thousands of active users.
Software Engineer
ComResource — Jan 2017 to Jan 2022 — Columbus, OH
I worked as a consultant, often as the only engineer on a client project, across government, financial services, and other enterprise work. One of the larger projects was a claims management platform for the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation, and another was a logistics tracking system for a local metal recycling company. In both cases I owned the work fully, design, QA, and deployment included.
